Noord-Ierland, jaren '70. De protestantse Alistair vermoordt de katholieke Jim terwijl diens elfjarige broertje Joe toekijkt. Jaren later durft Alistair de broer van de man die hij heeft vermoord niet om vergiffenis te vragen, terwijl Joe zich niet bevoegd voelt hem dit te schenken.

Van het conflict in Noord Ierland hoor je tegenwoordig weinig meer. De politieke tak van de IRA genaamd Sinn Fein zit in de regering en heeft geweld afgezworen. Er zijn nog wel wat splinter organisaties zoals de Real IRA maar deze kunnen het vredesproces niet echt verstoren.
Oftewel op het nieuws hoor je weinig in de filmindustrie is dit anders. Na The Wind That Shakes the Barley, Hunger en Fifty Dead Men Walking is er nu weer een nieuwe film over de IRA.
Dit is weer een filmpje die ik graag wil zien. De acteurs Liam Neeson en James Nesbitt kunnen dit wel denk ik. Ik heb goede hoop. |

Hier ben ik wel benieuwd naar. Heeft deze film al niet z'n TV-première beleefd overigens? Volgens mij had BBC een paar maanden terug de eer om deze film als eerste uit te mogen zenden. Helaas gemist, toen.

Vanaf 29 juli in de bioscoop. Zelfs pathe gaat hem vertonen. Ik kan niet wachten!

Goede film dit hoor!
Wat ik alleen niet begrijp is waarom 'ie relatief laat na de release alsnog in NL gaat draaien...ik heb um een maand of 8 (!) geleden al via het net bekeken...vreemd...
