Nog even bezig: het filmfestival van Venetie of beter gezegd Mostra Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica. Dit jaar jaargang 66. De prijs die wordt uitgereikt is de Gouden Leeuw.

Hier heb ik er nog maar weinig van gezien. Toevallig kwam gisteren of eergisteren "Cyclo" (Vietnam) by Tran Ahn Hung op Nederland 2, dus die heb ik opgenomen.

Op Ozon en Miike na eigenlijk alles. 
Een beter programma dan Cannes. Sowiezo staan hier veel titels tussen van regisseurs die regelmatig te zien zijn op het IFFR. Kelly Reichardt die een western aflevert. De nieuwe van Tran Anh Hung! Saverio Costanzo, één van de weinige Italiaanse regisseur waar ik nog hoop in heb. Laat maar komen!
Alleen waar blijft The Three of Life?

Het is een realistisch verhaal en een enigszins compact boek, het leent zich dus perfect voor een verfilming maar het vereist wel een sterke regisseur (wat wel goed schijnt te zitten) en wat degelijk acteerwerk (maarja welke film niet  ). Heb er toch echt wel zin in!

Een aantal films zijn gelukkig deze winter nog te zien in de theaters. Norwegian Wood, Miral en The Solitude of Prime Numbers. Een klein aantal films zijn aangekocht en worden volgend jaar verspreid uitgebracht. Komt ook door de hoeveelheid (kleine) distributeurs in Nederland. En dan heb ik het nog niet eens over de aantal films die van Berlijn, Cannes en Venetië meteen doorgaan naar het IFFR. Teveel om op te noemen.

Lost In Translation is mijn #1 film aller tijden, maar durf me om de een of andere reden eigenlijk niet te wagen aan haar andere films
