Intrigerend artikel tegengekomen over een bepaalde regisseur, film of een gerelateerde filmbezigheid dan kun je het hier plaatsen zodat anderen het kunnen lezen en wie weet over discussiëren.
De tegenstrijdigheid tussen kunst en entertainment. Moet Cinema bijvoorbeeld in eerste instantie entertainment zijn?

die vond ik wat gemakkelijk. De films die ze behandelde zitten veel meer verborgen dingen in, doe het dan goed. Een Scott Pilgrim waar zoveel in te ontdekken valt als je naar de achtergrond kijkt bijvoorbeeld, of naar de soundtrack luistert

Ik ga niet akkoord met Stan Lee en Matt Groening, okee die genoemde personen zullen het misschien wel beter gemaakt hebben maar hebben het nog steeds niet bedacht. Iets verbeteren is nog altijd makkelijker dan het te bedenken.

Grappig. Lee geeft zelf toe dat ie meer gedaan heeft voor andere comics. Zo ok Groening, die meer gedaan heeft voor Futurama dan Simpsons. Het is blijkbaar zo dat je als creator heel belangrijk bent, al doe je vervolgens geen flikker meer aan het schrijven.

Blijft er wel het feit dat je zonder de creatie die schrijvers geen lof kan geven... Moest het allemaal zo gemakkelijk zijn hadden ze wel zelf een serie bedacht denk ik dan...

Matt Groening's invloed op The Simpsons is wel groot geweest hoor, werd het ongeveer na 10 seizoenen pas minder zou ik me niet verbazen dat hij vanaf dat moment ook minder betrokken was bij de show.

Heel interessante artikelen over Poltergeist. Deel 1 is meer een analyse, deel 2 gaat vooral over het maken van de film. Het gaat ook in op de vraag wie de film nou werkelijk geregisseerd heeft: Tobe Hooper of toch Steven Spielberg?

De link in het tweede stuk naar die fan website van Poltergeist is een stuk interessanter, daar staan een paar oog getuige verslagen in van mensen die aan de film gewerkt hebben.

Russell. Rather, the man who changed the face of indie cinema with breakout features like Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction says he'll focus instead on academic pursuits.
"I'll probably just be a writer, or I'll just write novels, and I'll write film literature and film books and subtextual film criticism, things like that," Tarantino says.
Tarantino explains that it's film's imminent extinction -- with all-digital cameras and projectors rapidly replacing their traditional, celluloid counterparts -- that is turning him off of the medium.
"I hate that stuff," Tarantino says. "I shoot film. But to me, even digital projection is -- it's over, as far as I'm concerned. It's over."
Calling the practice nothing more than glorified "television in public," the director says he'd eschew cinema and focus on directing for TV itself -- which would afford him the luxury of telling the long, epic stories he wants to tell.
"I'd rather just write one of my big scripts and do it as a miniseries for HBO," he says |

Mee eens, bioscoop is tegenwoordig publiek tv kijken, QT had het niet beter kunnen omschrijven. Los van het feit dat je een nieuwe film eerder kan zien in de bioscoop zie ik totaal geen reden meer om naar de biscoop te gaan, alles is tegenwoordig toch digitaal. Gisteren Cloud Atlas gezien, zag er prima uit hoor, maar thuis ben ik ook digitaal... Tja wat blijft er dan nog over? een groter scherm? Nou hiep hoera, dat is echt 9 euro waard...  .
